Today's contender for the 2018 Best Christmas Mince Pie is...

Pastry: Great bite, delicate construction. A little crumbly and somewhat messy but it has a great buttery flavour and a smooth consistency once melted in the mouth.

Filling: Here's the real sweet spot for this pie - Moist, sweet, good variety of fruit and each identifiable flavour was very pleasant.

Presentation: A little on the rough side but that's to be expected from a large bakery, some filling had leaked out resulting in sticky fingers! - the standard foil tin separated easy from the pie itself without damaging the pastry.

Summary:
A bloody good Mince Pie.
