Today's contender for the 2018 Best Christmas Mince Pie is...

🎉 🎊 Sainsbury's 🎊 🎉     (Cheap ones by the self checkout)

Pastry:

Very crumbly and somewhat dry! Good pattern but very pale and not a lot of flavour.

Filling:

Again this Mince Pie failed to shine here. The filling doesn't offer much moisture and the fruits are lacking flavour and variety. 

Presentation:

The consistency across all 4 in the pack is good! However they're under baked, not hugely enticing and left me feeling one was enough. The foil tray came away easily but it resulted in damage to the edge of the pie, a real shame. There was some leaking of the filling but no sticky fingers! 

Summary:

Cheap and they tasted that way.
