Today's contender for the 2018 Best Christmas Mince Pie is...

🎉  ðŸŽŠ  ASDA   ðŸŽŠ  ðŸŽ‰   ( £1.50 for 6! )

Pastry: Hard to fault, it's light, delicate, good colour and fantastic flavour but the powdery element lingers a little too long for me.

Filling: The filling is spot on. Fruity, sweet, spiced really well and with a decent boozy hit from a mix of brandy and port. The fruit has a great bite with nice variety - I suspect they're soaked in the alcohol since there's a strong flavour as you chomp away.

Presentation: The size and shape across the pack varies a little, some blown out tops which had lost their shape but no leaks! The powder sugar is a really nice touch and gives an instant sweetness. It's hard to say much wrong about them and they're a fantastic bargain at £1.50 for 6. It's beating M&S on bang for buck BUT it's a strong 2nd place for me.

Summary: I've eaten 3.
